Show Your Poetic Violet Spirit!

 

A spirited debate might ensue over WHAT EXACTLY THE VIOLET FESTIVAL COMMITTEE HAD IN MIND …. And what do YOU think, oh bard?  Does this year’s theme inspire briskness in you?  Or, terror?  Vivacity? Ardor? Royal Soulfulness? A wish to imbibe something purple?

 

You are invited to give us YOUR interpretation of Violet Spirit

in this year’s Violet Festival Poetry Contest! Use whatever poetic form you wish.  Winners in both the student and adult division will receive a one hundred dollar first prize.  Winners, including runners-up, will be requested to recite their winning poems on-stage at the Violet Festival, Sunday morning.

 

To be eligible, your poem must:

• Interpret this year’s theme--

• Be twenty-five lines or less

• Be received for judging by May 31, 2023
