Violet Festival Poetry Contest

our Creative Writing Contest using this year’s
Violet Festival theme: Let Freedom Bloom.
Adult and Student categories, students limited
to the DCS district “footprint.” First prizes
for adult and high school of $100! Elementary
students may also enter.

Entry forms at Dolgeville-Manheim Public
Library. Your name should appear ONLY on
the entry form.

Your entry must:
Be 25 lines or fewer if it’s a poem
Be 250 words or fewer if it’s a story (micro-fiction)
Include a word-count at the end if it’s a story
Follow the theme “Let Freedom Bloom”
Be received on or before June 1, 2026

Poems may be free verse or formal, metered or
unmetered.

Winners will present their poems onstage on
Sunday, June 14, at the Festival.
